Can I use No More Gaps to fill holes in timber and then drill and screw into it to attach verandah brackets.

The brackets are decoration only and have no purpose in the structure at all. What alternatives are there if the answer is no

No More Gaps is not suitable for this application. It does not cure hard and remains flexible. It is primarily for gaps where movement may be expected.The best product for this filling job is Plasti-Bond Heavy Duty Bog Plastibond is a two part bog filler which can be sanded, drilled and screwed into once cured.For best adhesion the timber you are filling should be clean, dry and free of paint.
