Can a hair dryer be used to speed up the curing process of Selleys Wet Area Speed Seal Silicone?

My handyman has proposed to use a hair dryer to speed up the curing process of this sealant, so that I can use my shower sooner after application. I thought this was wield because as I understand, the sealant would need humidity from the air to cure. Please advise.

You are correct. the silicone requires atmospheric moisture to cure. Using a hair dryer will have no effect on the cure time.If anything it would hinder the cureing process.Wet Area Speed Seal requires up to 72 hours to fully cure however it will have skinned over and cured sufficiently after 2 hours for the shower to be used. Just ensure the sealant is not disturbed by touching.
